Ways to Serve

Opportunities to Get Involved

St Luke’s ~ San Lucas has lots of things going that are meant to serve our mission to grow spiritually in ourselves and grown in service to others. On the “Our Ministries” page you can see the tasks and roles within the congregation that make this such a wonderful community. These types of activities are part of the full panoply of internal workings to which people give their time and talent.

Tuesday through Friday, from around 9 to noon, we have volunteers handling food, clothing, bus passes and toiletries out to people who come in for assistance. Volunteers also come in to sort and categorize the clothing in the large holding area for clothing.

We also need the following types of help on a regular basis:

  • Choir members,
  • Lectors to read the prayers and lessons,
  • Acolytes,
  • Altar Guild,
  • Ushers,
  • Greeters,
  • Sunday School Teachers,
  • Nursery Attendants,
  • maintenance volunteers for the Thursday Crew
  • Office Angels to help in the office especially when our Parish Administrator is away

We could really use the following types of volunteers

  • A Spanish speaking administrative volunteer to assist our Spanish speaking members
  • Someone to put together the monthly newsletter
  • Website news and updates

We have occasional roles, such as:

  • Cooking for shut ins
  • Vacation Bible School in July
  • Instrumentalists and singers
