My mother, who is 92, always said she was a “hillbilly.” Now this poignant autobiography of one person has come out in 2016 and illustrates so much of what I recall of visiting and interacting with my mom’s family. Then there’s the inheritance part. How much still stays with us long after the generations have left the hills?
